I’ve got a chance to snap up these three very lovely, discontinued fabrics, but on account of being out-of-print, they’re super expensive and limited quantity.
Skirts would be gathered skirts (not full circle, though should still be full enough to get a petticoat under), and you’d be paying a premium - $140 + postage for the cherry blossoms and Monet-like print, and $130 for the poppy fields. We’d only be able to go up to a 45 inch waist and 24 inch length due to the limited amount of fabric.

Harping on about Bernie Dexter clothing AGAIN!
So my ‘Girls Day’ dress in 2XL arrived today. It’s absolutely beautiful in person, and again the make of the dress is really lovely. Weirdly, even though my Koi dress in 2XL fit perfectly … this one is far too large for me. I’m going to see if my mother can cinch it in somehow, and possibly shorten the straps a bit - it’s too large at the waist, but it also seems like the bust is cut for someone far more ample of bust than I am. Take note, women of larger bosoms! This particular style WILL accommodate you (I’m a humble C cup)! I’m actually really surprised by just how large this dress is, and I’d say it might fit up to a 38 inch waist even though the measurements suggest 36.
In related Bernie Dexter clothing news. I recently posted here asking if anyone could confirm or deny stories about Bernie discontinuing larger sizes. I was contacted by a BD rep who has told me it is indeed true - Bernie will be discontinuing all 1X and 2X sizes. DEVASTATING. She suggested I politely email Bernie and make a case for continuing her larger sizes, and I might just do that now I’ve tried (and loved!) a couple of her dresses.
In the meantime, the rep I spoke to was Amanda at Blue Fountain Plaza (website coming soon but for the time being you can find her on ebay) - she actually specialises in selling Bernie Dexter clothing in plus sizes, and as a plus size herself can tell you all about how each dress fits, which styles are better for certain sizes (especially if you’ve got a larger bust), how the waists fit, etc etc.
She stocks a range of new and second-hand Bernie Dexter dresses in sizes 1X and 2X. Given that larger sizes are about to be discontinued, if you’re interested in trying out a Bernie Dexter dress and your waist falls between 33-37 inches, now is probably the best time to do something about it!
